Just because you have just captured some great images during the “Magic Hour” does not mean it’s time to put away the camera and quit shooting.  Some of my favorite images are from “Night Photography”.  The same scene you shot during the daylight will take on a whole new dimension after dark.  With digital photography, subjects that were nearly impossible to shoot a night, are now obtainable by nearly everyone.

This workshop is designed to teach you what you need to know to make fantastic night or lowlight images.  You will learn to set your camera manually for long exposures nessery for night photos.  You will learn techniques such as “Light Painting”and night sky photography. You will learn how to photograph fireworks, the moon, people at night, and much more.

Workshop Itinerary

Friday June 1

We will meet a 6:00 pm at my personal studio/classroom and have a short class on setting your camera for night photography.

We will then travel to downtown Fort Smith for a night photo shoot, until approximately 11:00 pm.

Saturday June 2

We will meet back at my personal studio/classroom and spend the afternoon with more in depth instruction into special techniques for different types of night photography and due some processing of images from the night before.

We will go to dinner and then travel to the location of our night shoot, planning to arrive well before dark.

Sunday June3

We will meet back at my personal studio/classroom and have some more classroom instruction and process images from the night before.  We will break for dinner at around 6:00 and head out for a third night shoot after that.

Workshop Information:

Location Greg Disch’s Private Studio, Fort Smith AR
Experience Should be familiar with using your camera and editing your images on a computer.
Equipment DSLR Digital Camera, tripod, cable release, and laptop computer with lightroom 3, or other editing software.
Optional Equipment Additional lenses and camera equipment and an external flash if you have one.
Maximum Class Size 8 particpants to enable personal attention.

Who Should Attend Photographers who want to learn to have total control over the settings on thier camera, shooting at night is one of the best ways to really learn to work your camera.  Many of the techniques will apply to all types of photography, and we will have a chance to get some great images.
